For individuals, couples, and families
Daphne Gelbart, MA, RCC, is a Vancouver clinical counsellor registered with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. Daphne is a graduate of the University of British Columbia (UBC) Department of Educational & Counselling Psychology and Special Education and has a scientific background at the masters level.
Daphne provides evidence-based counselling to individuals, couples and families who experience stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or relationship difficulties. She helps individual clients gain self understanding, cope with stress and sadness, increase focus and motivation, build and improve relationships (personal, work, dating). Couples (straight and same-sex) are helped in recovering from conflict or distant relationships (including the aftermath of an extramarital affair), strengthening their bond, improving communication, developing shared goals and nurturing intimacy. Families are helped in harmonizing relationships and overcoming conflict.
Daphne has undergone extensive training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and applies methods derived from dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) and mindfulness. In Couple Therapy she was trained in emotionally-focused therapy (EFT), the Gottman method, Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (IBCT) and legal advocacy. Daphne volunteers with the Oak Counselling Service Society.
